3 Things That Made Me Happy This Week
A new quarantine series
Shit’s hard right now, yo, and it’s important to find moments of joy and levity wherever we can. So I’ve decided to start a weekly series where I’ll share three things that made me happy. Enjoy!
I re-discovered my all-time favorite youtube tutorial:
It’s almost three years old and has absolutely nothing to do with COVID-19.
2. Newcomers: A Star Wars podcast with Lauren Lapkus & Nicole Byer
Whether you’re watching Star Wars for the first time (I’m looking at you, Lisa!) or are a life-long fan who can still have a sense of humor about the whole universe and fandom (I’m looking at you, me!), this podcast is a really entertaining escape. Comedians Lauren Lapkus and Nicole Byer watch all the movies (yes, even the prequels!) for the first time and discuss each one with a Star Wars fan.
The latest episode (below) breaks down Rogue One, but I recommend starting from the beginning with A New Hope.
3. Devs on Hulu
Everyone is binging Tiger King and Love Is Blind, and I am all for my popcorn-TV. But I wanted to talk about another show Jon and I have also been digging: Devs. Now, this is a dark show with some pretty gruesome violence that not everyone will be up for. But if you’re into techy spy dramas, exploring ideas around determinism and the multiverse, or watching a long-haired Nick Offerman give a super serious performance, this show’s got you covered.
The final episode of the 8-part series released this week, so it’s officially bingeable now!
